This will give you a brilliant background to the brand and how they target their audience. Answer the following questions using the press pack and the slide show:

1) Read page 2 of the press pack. What is KISS FM's mission?

Their mission is to entertain 15 to 34 year olds and can be listened to on anything such as a phone, tablet and television.

2) Look at page 3 of the press pack. What is the target audience for KISS FM? What music would they like? What would they be interested in?

How does the show target its audience? Look at slide 12 of the slide show attached.

And have more asian and black presenters then any other radio show. The listeners might be into going out drinking, going on night’s out and mostly live in urban areas (The City) such as london and listen to rap, grime and R&B.

3) Now look at page 5 of the press pack and slides 5 and 6 from the attached slides  - The KISS network. How does KISS use digital media and technology to reach its audience?

They use digital media to target a specific group as they have 3 radio stations KISS,KISSTORY and KISS Fresh and through a multi platform strategy.

4) Now look at the other side of page 5 of the press pack and slides 5 and 6 from the attached slides. What content do KISS Fresh and KISSTORY offer and how can audiences access those stations?

The content that KISS Fresh produces is where you find the first plays of the biggest tracks. The content that KISSTORY produces is playing old school music and a variety such as R&B,dance and Hip Hop.

5) Read page 6 of the press pack. What are the different ways audiences can engage with the KISS radio brand? Look at slide 8- is the show successful?

The audiences can engage by listening to their favourite songs on the KISS Kube app, listening online and going to KISS’s Yearly events. The show is not that successful as they have struggled to maintain its audience during the digital age.

6) Now think about the clips you've watched or listened to of the KISS FM Breakfast show with Jordan and Perri. What audience pleasures are offered by the KISS FM Breakfast show? Use Blumler and Katz Uses and Gratifications theory - which you can remind yourself of by looking at slide 14 of the slide show. If you need to watch any of the clips of Jordan and Perri again, then please look at the clips here: https://foundationgcsemedia2.blogspot.com/

Look at all the clips on the slide show too (some of them are the same).

An audience pleasure Offered by the KISS FM Breakfast show is Diversion as listeners can take a step away from their normal life and listen to the music offered by KISS.Another is Personal identity as they can relate to what the presenters are saying and they might find themselves in that same situation.

7) How does the KISS FM Breakfast show contrast with Tony Blackburn's 1967 Radio 1 Breakfast show and the launch of BBC Radio 1? See slide 18.

It contrasts with Tony Blackburn's show as his show was illegal and Teenagers liked to break the rules and this is what KISS did in 2005.
