A brief history of videogames: blog task

 1) What were the first videogames like?

One of the first videogames to come into existance was  Tennis for Two which came out in 1958 and it was on a mainframe which was used in the war for codebreaking and the first videogames were made on these type of systems.

2) How have videogames changed over time? 

they have changed over time as the expanding demographics of gamers. With more people playing games, creating demand for more immersive entertainment, and looking for easier ways to access games, the future of the video game industry looks bright.

3) What do the most successful games have in common? Answer this in as much detail as you can. Think about audience pleasures - what do people like about playing videogames?

The things which successful games have in common is that they are different types of games as some games might be a role playing game and some might be a first person shooter. people like playing videogames as it acts as some form of diversion from their normal lives and some games such as Minecraft lets people use their imagination and they can build structures that look visuely appealing and can build with friends.

4) What criticisms have been made towards videogames?

a criticism which has been made towards videogames is that they can be seen as addicting as some people might play them too much and another is that it can made teenagers who are the target audience for these types of games do violent things.
